Mini Cooper Key Fob Troubleshooting Tips
A Mini Cooper is an unique car that is classic in design and great handling. It's not without its faults.
One of the most frequent is the case of a key fob that malfunctions. You can avoid an expensive trip to a dealer by fixing it yourself.
Remote Mirror Control
The MINI Cooper keyfob is equipped with a wide range of helpful features, including the ability to control remotely exterior features, such as the sunroof and roll-up windows. This is an excellent convenience for many drivers.
The remote mirror control feature works by allowing the driver to press the 'lock' button on their key fob to fold their side-view mirrors. They can also use the same button to fold the mirrors again. It's possible that your vehicle's switch has failed if you are experiencing issues with this feature. A local ASE certified technician can inspect the switch to determine if it is in need to be replaced.
Certain drivers notice that their car's wing mirrors can be adjusted from top to bottom but won't adjust sideways. This is a sign that the mirror control switch has likely developed a problem. This could be caused by a faulty master switch, a faulty slave switch or an issue with the relay that sends out the signal to control the mirrors.
Fortunately the local ASE-certified mechanic can fix this problem with a simple and inexpensive fix. The solution is to have the mirror control switch replaced. This will solve the issue and you can enjoy your vehicle's features on the outside without having to worry about someone stealing it.

Many cars are equipped with remote starters, which permit you to start your car from a distance. This is particularly useful during winter, when you want to warm up your vehicle before leaving to work. It can also be used to cool or heat the interior.
If you own a MINI with Comfort Access, it is possible to use your key fob to activate the ventilation system. This is different from remote start but can be very useful if you're running late to work in St Louis Park, or the %%traget_city or %%traget_city.
Compustar offers a kit which allows you to add the remote start feature to your MINI. These kits employ standard connectors to prevent unnecessary wire cuts and ensure the integrity of your vehicle's internal wiring. This kit is only available on certain MINI Cooper models and years. It comes with the remote start as well as two 2-way remote transmitters. Contact an authorized local Arctic Start Retailer for pricing and installation.

Acoustic Lock Confirmation
The BMW comfort access system comes with an option that allows you ensure that your car is locked even when you aren't able to see it. This is the acoustic lock confirmation, and it's an unobtrusive sound that tells you your car is locked and that the trunk is locked. This is a great way to feel safe when you leave your car at an unidentified parking spot or if you're leaving your vehicle unattended for a prolonged duration.
My wife's 2022 Cooper S 5 door would like an Acoustical lock/unlock confirm. Is there a way to code this? If so, would you recommend a Piezo siren/buzzer to tap into?
Thanks!
